Your tour guide along with the driver will pick you up from your place of stay and you will head toward Hotel Moscow – this is where your tour will officially begin. Your guide will provide you the background of Moscow and how it came to be. You will also learn about the history of Red Square, The Kremlin and GUM. If you have not seen the Red Square before, this is a great time to enjoy its splendor, and take a few pictures, while your guide delves into the history of both Imperial Russia and Soviet Russia.
After enjoying the Red Square you will come back to the car and continue on Okhotnuy Ryad passing the magnificent Bolshoi Theater on your left the Metropol hotel, which had the privilege hosting guests from George Bernard Shaw to John Steinbeck. You will carry on to Lubyanka Square to the infamous KGB building, that was also a prison for many renowned prisoners, one of the most famous being Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.
You will go on to Varvarka street and drive along the Moscow river embankment toward Christ the Savior Cathedral, the largest Orthodox Church in the world.
Furthermore, your tour will continue along the Moscow River passing the statue of Peter the Great and toward the Novodevichy convent. The Monastery has remained virtually intact since the 17th century and rightly holds a place among the UNESCO World Heritage sites.
From the Novodevichy convent you will head past the Luzhniki stadium toward Sparrow Hills (Vorobyevy Gory). Sparrow Hills is the highest point in Moscow, from here you can see the never-ending construction of the "Moscow City" and the enormous buildings of Moscow State University (MGU). After enjoying the breath taking view the tour will continue crossing the Moskva river toward Kutuzovsky Prospekt.
You will end your tour driving down Kutuzovsky Prospekt, past the Triumphal Arc and toward one of the most vibrant streets of Moscow – New Arbat. Your driver will take you to the door steps of your hotel/apartment or any other place in Moscow that you would like to be.
